statement

In Represas_Blue Gold Vergara uses solvents to erode the embedded pigments in prints from her Represas series. In this technique, of her own creation, she erodes the landscapes depicted (landscapes she constructed from her personal archive of images) while questioning traditional photographic processes. By placing these behind glass, they start to resemble shards of stained glass, placing the viewer  into impossible scenarios that encourage the viewer to investigate and remap their own coordinates.
